Limburg police say they expect Jos Brech, the 55-year-old man suspected of killing an 11-year-old boy over 20 years ago, will be back in the Netherlands next week.

Brech, who was arrested in Spain this weekend, was ordered to be extradited by judges in Spain on Tuesday, clearing the way for his return.

A known survivalist, Brech was identified via a mass dna testing in Limburg and police issued his photograph last week. He was then recognised by someone living in a commune in a remote Spanish village and arrested while chopping wood.

Nicky Verstappen was murdered on a campsite in Limburg in July 1998.
