A Dutch company based at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport is being investigated for illegally supplying radar system parts to Russia, the AD said on Thursday.

The AD, which did not name the company, said that the freight company flew two  radar units to Jekaterinaburg airport in 2015, a year after the EU brought in sanctions against Russia following its invasion of Ukraine.

The parts were sent to an arms manufacturer which makes fighter jets for the Russian army, the paper said. The parts were for a specific plane which had been ordered by the Indian army.

It is the first time that a Dutch firm has been taken taken to court for breaking the sanctions, the paper said.
