Dutch rapper and television presenter Ali B has been mugged by armed robbers close to his home in Almere.

Ali B said in a video on Instagram he was with his driver at the time and that he had given the robbers what they wanted, but did not go into further details.

‘More importantly, I and my family are unhurt,’ B said.

According to Omroep Flevoland, the robbers were after B’s Rolex watch. The police report on the incident says the gang may have had guns, and that they made off in a car.

There have been a number of attacks on Dutch celebrities in recent years. Last year, YouTube star and makeup artist Nikkie de Jager was tied up at her home and robbed.

Singer Gordon was also attacked and robbed in his home, as was football analyst René van der Gijp.
