Rob Zweekhorst, 44, was shot dead at close range while out walking his dog in Berkel en Rodenrijs at the beginning of January that year. He was shot by someone wearing a hoodie who vanished without trace.

The suspect is 51 and was arrested at his home. Police say the investigation is ongoing and the €15,000 reward for information is still valid.

Neither the police or public prosecution department will say if the man arrested is the known drugs criminal Rene F, who has been linked to the crime by informants involved in another case.
