Two of the three men injured in a explosion in a block of flats in Arnhem on Monday evening have died in hospital, police said on Tuesday.

The three men all got out of the building after the blast. One jumped into a canal and a second was taken in by neighbours.

The third man, who walked away from the building and was found by passersby a short distance away, is still being treated for his injuries, local broadcaster RTV Gelderland said.

Police have said  nothing about the identity of the three but RTV Gelderland says drugs may have been the cause of the blast. The apartment was not connected to gas.

The explosion was filmed by people in a car.
