A 15-year-old has been arrested after a scuffle at a Center Parcs holiday location in North Brabant in which several Israeli tourists were wounded.

Police said the conflict took place at the park in Westerhoven and the boy from Maarssen was arrested on suspicion of assault and attempted serious assault.

Two groups were playing paintball, but a disagreement over the rules led to a fight that spilled outside, police said in a news statement. Groups from Maarssen in Utrecht and tourists from Israel exchanged “heavy punches” and threatening language, they said.

A 37-year-old man and a 41-year-old man from Israel were injured, one with serious head wounds. They were treated by ambulance staff at the scene. Police have launched an investigation.

Earlier this week, reports surfaced that pro-Palestinian activists had secretly filmed Israeli tourists at a Center Parcs in Eemhof, Zeewolde and posted the film online. The Dutch-Israeli organisation Centrum Informatie en Documentatie Israël (Cidi) is reporting them to police for allegedly inciting hatred.
