A 42-year-old man who lured a 13-year-old girl away from a caravan park last summer and sexually assaulted her has been jailed for three years to be followed by psychiatric prison.

The public prosecution department had called for a seven year sentence.

Danny D, who was cleared of raping the girl, was also charged with the sexual abuse of 16 other young teenagers, Dutch media reported.

The Dordrecht court was told D, from Koudekerk aan den Rijn, had made contact with the girl, named as Lisa, before the family holiday by posing as a teenage boy. They had met several times before he persuaded her to leave the campsite in Gelderland.

After several days, she was found on a bus heading from Koudekerk aan den Rijn to Rotterdam. Police had reportedly used her mobile phone to track her whereabouts.

D, who has two children of his own, was convicted of making child pornography in 2011 after persuading another young teenager to take off her clothes in front of a web cam.

He was then sentenced to 13 months in jail and also underwent treatment at a clinic specialising in treating people who commit sex crimes.
