There is a great deal of interest in taking over the bankrupt shops of Perry Sport and Aktiesport, the Telegraaf reports on Wednesday.

The parent company of the two chains applied for court protection from creditors on Tuesday and they were later declared bankrupt.

Curator Toni van Hees told broadcaster Nos that the first negotiations will begin next week. ‘There are many interested parties,’ he said. ‘There are some great shops among them, some of which are profitable.’

Parent group Unlimited Sports Group (USG) said on Tuesday it has been affected by the bankruptcies of department store V&D and shoe chain Scapino, where Perry and Aktiesport had dozens of shop-in-shop operations.

Perry had 11 outlets in V&D department stores and Aktiesport 128 units within the Scapino operation.

In total, USG has a workforce of around 800. Perry has some 70 outlets nationwide and Aktiesport 180.
