Too few police are highly educated: minister
Just 15% of police personnel are highly educated, according to National Police figures obtained by the AD.
This is too few, says justice minister Ard van der Steur, who wants 20% of the force to come from hbo colleges.
‘We expect to see an increase in cyber crime and financial crime in the coming years,’ Van der Steur told the AD. ‘In order to tackle these, you need highly educated people.’
