Healthcare and social security spending hits €186bn

The Dutch state spent €11,130 per person in 2011 on health and social security, figures from the central statistics office CBS show on Wednesday.


Total expenditure on unemployment benefit, state pensions and the basic healthcare package was €186bn, 4% up on 2010.
Denmark and Luxemburg are the only European countries that spend more per person on health and social security.
