Strikes loom at AkzoNobel
Unions at paint and coatings group AkzoNobel on Friday called on members to go on strike in an effort to force the company to improve redundancy agreements.
A new social plan proposed by the company to deal with reorganisations offers worse conditions, Ron Vos of general workers union FNV Bondgenoten is quoted as saying by news agency ANP.
In particular, the unions fear redundancy payments will be reduced.
AkzoNobel is in the process of cutting 120 jobs across the company. The previous social plan expired at the end of last year.
