The Dutch spend more time online
The amount of time the Dutch spend online rose 18% to an average 9.8 hours a week a the end of last year, compared with 8.3 hours a year earlier, according to new figures from audience monitoring group JIC Stir.
Youngsters are still most likely to be online, spending 14.6 hours a week behind their computers or smart phones.
But the sharpest rises in internet use – up to 30% – were recorded among the 35-49 and 50+ age groups, the survey showed. The over 50s now spend an average 5.9 hours a week online.
