Rotterdam energy firm Eneco ups profit 45%

Rotterdam energy group Eneco booked a 45% increase in net profit last year, while turnover rose almost 2%.

The figures were influenced by the takeover of budget energy group Oxxio and its 100% shareholding in the Amalia offshore wind farm, the company said.
Eneco is the number three on the Dutch energy market, behind Nuon and Essent, both of which are now owned by foreign firms. Eneco’s net profit rose from €141m to €204m while turnover rose to €5bn.
