The armed robbery carried out on Brinks money transport van in June 2011 netted the thieves €12m, according to public prosecution department documents.
The robbers struck in the early hours of the morning, using explosives and automatic weapons. After crashing one of their two getaway cars on the A2 following a high-speed chase, the robbers threatened another driver and made off in his car.
Three people have since been arrested in connection with the crime, one of whom will appear in court next week. One of the three is in Belgium and is currently appealing against his extradition to the Netherlands. Three people are still at large.
