Amsterdam’s VU university teaching hospital has halted a second media project – this time involving a writer who followed a heart specialist while researching a book, according to various media reports on Monday.

On Friday, the hospital pulled the plug on a controversial television series on its accident and emergency department after it emerged several patients had been filmed without their consent.
At least three people are taking legal action against the hospital and television company RTL for infringing their privacy during the recording process, Trouw said on Monday.
The second project, involving writer Ronald Giphart and the hospital’s cardiology department, has been stopped pending a second look at the conditions attached to the project, the hospital said in a statement.
However, according to the Volkskrant, Giphart was not allowed to read patient records and his presence in the wards is very well advertised. ‘Everyone wears a white coat coat in line with hygiene requirements,’ Giphart told the paper.
