Budget leaks: healthcare benefits to be cut, says Telegraaf
The healthcare benefit paid to people on lower incomes is to go down considerably next year and premiums for the better off will rise sharply, the Telegraaf reports on Thursday.
The paper bases its claims on leaked documents relating to next week’s budget presentation.
Families with an average annual income of around €33,000 will get €160 a year less in benefit while single people’s benefits will go down by €100, the paper says.
But people earning more than €37,000 a year will have to pay hundreds of euros more in premiums
In addition, people who are handicapped or have chronic health conditions and an income of more than €31,200 will lose the extra help they get to pay medical bills, the Volkskrant says.
