Vulnerable elderly total to reach one million by 2030

The number of vulnerable elderly in the Netherlands will rise to around one million over the next 20 years, the socio-economic planning agency SCP said on Friday.

That is up 300,000 on the current total but 100,000 below previous estimates, the SCP said.
The SCP said the total is lower than thought earlier because the increasing number of elderly people with higher levels of education are better able to cope than the low-skilled.
