Strong winds continue to disrupt air traffic

Flights have been disrupted at Schiphol airport all day because of the strong winds which have reduced runway capacity.

Travellers are being urged to check with their airlines before leaving for the airport to make sure their flight is going ahead.
The delays are expected to last into Friday evening.
The strong winds, particularly in Noord-Holland, have caused little damage, news agency ANP said.
In Beverwijk the roof was blown off a petrol station and several trees have been blown down.
