Self-defence killer gets compensation
A man from Haarlem who was jailed for 4.5 years for stabbing another man to death because he was being attacked has been awarded €53,000 compensation, the Telegraaf reports.
Menno de G killed the 38-year-old man in April 2009 saying he had become frightened after the man repeatedly harrassed and threatened him.
G spent one year in jail before a court ruled he should not have been prosecuted and was suffering from untreated post traumatic stress syndrome following the incident.
