Government has no comment on Wikileaks’ accuracy
The cabinet will not be making any comment about the accuracy of US diplomatic cables which have been made public via the Wikileaks website, home affairs minister Piet Hein Donner said on Monday.
Even if the leaked documents are genuine, they contain ‘the reflections, perceptions and estimates,’ of diplomatic staff about the situation in the Netherlands and ‘cover what the writer understands to be the situation and wants to convey’, Donner said.
The leaked cables which mention the Netherlands and have been published so far focus on Afghanistan, the JSF fighter jet and the rise of anti-Islam MP Geert Wilders.
