Three cows died of BSE last year

Three cows died of mad cow disease (BSE) in the Netherlands last year, the farm ministry said on Wednesday.

Two cases were identified in the autumn and a third cow, a 14-year-old, died on a farm in Friesland at the end of December.
Compulsory tests for BSE were introduced in 1997.
