Some 50% of Dutch fishing firms are either MSC certified or are having their applications assessed and all herring and mackrel catches are now covered, ANP says.
Germany and the UK top the MSC rankings.
Worldwide, some 7% of fish for human consumption has been caught in line with the MSC’s guidelines.
