Dutch nonchalant on financial matters
The Dutch overestimate their understanding of financial matters, according to international research in 10 countries by financial services group ING.
While some 75% of the Dutch nationals given a financial IQ test expected to do well, only 25% actually did so, according to the Volkskrant report on the research
And while most are aware of the basics of good budgeting, 59% had no desire to improve their knowledge.
The Japanese emerged from the survey as the most financially astute, Indians the most positive about their own financial future and Americans most motivated to do their best with their cash, the Volkskrant said.
