Supermarket robber probably died after a fall: post mortem

The young man who died of injuries received during an armed robbery on a supermarket in Moerkapelle probably died after falling on the back of his head, the public prosecution department said on Thursday.

A post mortem examination has shown a fall is a more likely cause of death than being hit with a hard object, the department said.
During the robbery, there was a tussle with shop workers. The Telegraaf reported earlier that the robber who died had fallen down the stairs.
One shop worker is considered by police to be a suspect, but has not been arrested because under new government guidelines he appeared to have acted out of necessity.
