Tuitert beat football player Wesley Sneijder and fellow skater Sven Kramer to the award.
Olympic gold snowboarder Nicolien Sauerbreij took the women’s title, beating skater Ireen Wüst and long distance swimmer Lindsey Heister.
Dutch national soccer coach Bert van Marwijk was named coach of the year. His squad, which came second in the World Cup, took the team title.
