Rotterdam’s new stadium may ‘sell’ its name

Talks are under way between Rotterdam football club Feyenoord and both the port authority and German electronics firm Siemens to sell the name of the club’s new stadium, Radio Rijmond reports.

Research group Sport + Markt suggests selling the name could generate up to €2m a year for the club.
PSV’s stadium is named after Philips while Twente’s home base is the Grolsch Veste.
The new stadium, replacing the Kuip (tub), will have room for up to 86,000 fans and is a central part of the Dutch Belgian bid to stage the 2018 World Cup.
