The fog could be very dense in places on Tuesday, the KNMI said.
Icy roads caused over 250 accidents in Monday morning’s rush hour, with cars on local roads particularly prone to problems.
The A6 in Flevoland was closed for a while because of accidents due to black ice.
Snow
Last weekend there were some 700 accidents because of the snow and freezing conditions, some 300 more than the average weekend, the alarm exchange Mondial Assistance said.
Two men were killed in an accident on the N247 near Monnickendam after their lorry went into open water. The cabin was forced into the bottom of the water by the weight of its cargo, news agency ANP said.
