Hackers shut down Dutch public prosecution website after arrest

Cyber vandals operating under the Anonymous group flag on Friday closed down the website of the Dutch public prosecution department.

According to website Tweakers, the attack is in response to the arrest of a 16-year-old youth in connection with the hacking of Mastercard and Visa credit card websites earlier this week.
A number of websites were taken offline for a time after coordinated attacks by supporters of the Wikileaks website and its founder Julian Assange.
The public prosecution department’s site was shut down on Friday morning for several hours.

The youth arrested on Thursday operates under the name JeroenzOr and comes from Zoetermeer, the website said.
The youth is one of the operators of the internet relay chat channel in which sympathisers prepared the way for the cyber attacks, the website said, adding that at least one other Dutch hacker was involved in the attack on Mastercard.
The 16-year-old is due to appear in court in Rotterdam on Friday.
