Emmen zoo saved from closure
Unions and employers at financially-struggling Emmen zoo have reached a deal to save it from closure, website nu.nl reports.
Emmen town council had offered the zoo a €1.4m loan but wanted major cost-cutting in return.
Unions rejected an earlier plan by management but have now agreed salaries will be cut slightly and some 70 jobs will go.
