Eindhoven, Maastricht airports shut after heavy snow in the south
Eindhoven and Maastricht airports were closed for a time on Friday and public transport in the region severely disrupted following heavy overnight snow.
Passengers are being advised to contact their airlines to find out if their flight is cancelled or has been moved to another airport.
Eindhoven re-opened at around 11am and Maastricht will assess the situation again around 1300 hours.
Parts of the A2 motorway near Eindhoven have also been closed because of the snow.
Many bus services in Limburg have also been cancelled. According to the Telegraaf, up to 40 cm of snow fell in places.
