Blue chip index reaches 2010 record
Amsterdam stock exchange’s AEX blue chip reached a 2010 record on Wednesday morning, beating the previous high recorded in April by 0.03 of a percentage point.
The AEX topped 358.3 points, before falling back slightly in the afternoon.
Trading volumes were low because of the winter break. Steel group ArcelorMittal led the gainers, boosted by higher raw material prices.
Satnav maker TomTom and building group Bam, both among Tuesday’s gainers, fell back again on Wednesday.
