Best nursing home is in Friesland
The best nursing home in the Netherlands is once again De Klink in the Frisian town of Metslawier, according to the Volkskrant’s annual rankings.
Nursing homes in the central urban area, particularly in The Hague and Amsterdam, perform poorly overall, the paper said.
The 1,200 homes are ranked in terms of both service and satisfied residents. The survey is based on information which the nursing homes are required to provide the government with by law.
Experts told the paper the poor performance in The Hague and Amsterdam is due to the shortage of skilled and motivated personnel.
If ‘customer satisfaction’ is excluded from the calculations, Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam perform much better than average.
