At least one person has been killed following an explosion at a block of flats in Alphen aan den Rijn.

At least two adults have also been injured, a fire brigade spokesman told the Telegraaf.
In total 84 apartments in the complex have been evacuated. Dozens of windows were also shattered in the blast.
The cause is not yet known.
