Row over Jesus saves on roof ends

Farmer Joop van Ooijen and Giessenlanden village council have settled their differences over the massive Jezus redt (Jesus saves) text which Van Ooijen has painted on the roof of his farm.

The farmer has agreed to make the text smaller and to replace the tiles which he has painted red and orange with traditional orange tiles.
The row has been going on for years culminating in the Council of State agreeing the village council was correct in fining Van Ooijen. The two sides sat down to try and reach a settlement several weeks ago.
