A policeman has been jailed for 18 years for the murder of 12-year-old Milly Boele, who lived close to his home.

Dordrecht court ruled Sander V had taken the girl against her will and strangled her but said the prosecution had not proved sexual abuse.
V was arrested a week after the girl disappeared after confessing the murder to his girlfriend. He had killed and buried the girl in his back garden.
The public prosecution department had called for a 25-year jail term.
