Nine new locations on Unesco heritage site shortlist
The government has drawn up a list of nine new locations which it plans to submit for a Unesco world heritage listing.
The nine include the world’s oldest functioning planetarium in the Frisian town of Franeker, Teylers museum in Haarlem and the Zonnestral sanatorium near Hilversum.
There are nine sites in the Netherlands and the Antillean islands already included on the list. Part of Amsterdam’s 17th century canal ring was included this summer.
