A majority of MPs want justice minister Ivo Opstelten to stop individual police forces imposing quotas for fines as soon as possible, the Telegraaf reports on Thursday.

The paper says its sources indicate Opstelten is only willing to take action on quotas once a national police force has been set up, and that is likely to take years.
The new coalition agreement states that quotas are to be abandoned.
Although quotas are supposed to have been phased out, they are still widespread, the paper reported in September.
For example, Rotterdam police officers who do not hand out 120 fines in a year face a salary cut, the paper claims.
