Delft University funding cut by €19,000 – because of pay deal
Junior education minister Halbe Zijlstra is cut Delft University’s government funding by €19,000 because it broke government guidelines on public sector executive pay.
Delft’s director was paid €200,000 last year, which breaks the €181,000 official limit. Public sector workers are not supposed to earn more than the prime minister.
In a letter to MPs, Zijlstra says he is ‘surprised’ by Delft’s action.
