Council spending cuts average €258 per person
Dutch local councils are cutting spending by an average of €258 per resident next year, according to calculations by local authority economic institute Coelo.
In 2012 the cuts will mount to €445 per person, Coelo says.
Most money is being cut from housing and urban renewal budgets, which are 18% down on 2010. This is mainly due to the collapse of the housing market, Coelo says.
