The southern Dutch province of Zeeland has the lowest unemployment rate in the EU at just 2.1%, according to new figures from European statistics office Eurostat.


Second lowest is Gelderland, with an unemployment rate of 2.8%, followed by Utrecht in joint third with 2.9%. Noord-Brabant, Noord-Holland, Zuid-Holland and Friesland also feature in the lowest 10.
The French overseas dependency of Réunion has the highest unemployment rate at 27%.
