Untested Spaniard takes over at Vitesse
Spain’s Albert Ferrer has signed an 18 month contract to take over as head coach at Arnhem football club Vitesse.
Ferrer, who has not coached a premier division club before, will pick up the reins on November 15. ‘I do not think my lack of experience will be a problem,’ Ferrer, who played for Barcelona under Johan Cruijff, said.
Vitesse’s new owner Merab Zjordania has made winning the national title his target for the club. ‘There is a lot of work to do,’ Ferrer said. ‘I like Barcelona’s style but no one has such good players.’
