Stef Blok to lead VVD in parliament

Stef Blok, 45, has been unanimously elected leader of the right-wing Liberal parliamentary party, replacing Mark Rutte who is set to become prime minister.


Blok has been an MP for nearly 12 years and is currently the party’s spokesman on pensions and social affairs. He led the VVD campaign during the general election.
The VVD has 31 MPs.
