Staffing agency Randstad benefits from recovery in Q3

The world’s number two staffing agency Randstad benefited from improvments in the global economy in the third quarter of 2010, with a 19% increase in sales.

Randstad, founded 50 years ago, booked turnover of €3.8bn in the third quarter, in line with analysts expectations. Net profit was up 20% at €72.3m.
The improvements were largely due to the US and Germany, but the company expects the recovery now to start in the Netherlands.
‘After the quick pickup in industrial demand earlier this year, we now also see improvements in clerical and professional segments in many regions. In addition, the number of permanent placements is increasing,’ CEO Cees Noteboom said in a statement.
