Some 10% of VVD voters oppose the pact with the PVV
Some 10% of people who voted for the right-wing Liberal party VVD oppose the decision to form a governing alliance involving the anti-Islam PVV, senior party member Frans Weisglas said in an interview with website NU.nl.
‘I get a lot of mails and support,’ said Weisglas, who has been an outspoken critic of the deal. ‘My estimate is that 10% do not support the current course.’
Two other former VVD ministers, Joris Voorhoeve and Gijs de Vries, have already left the party and joined the Liberal democrats D66 in protest.
