Queen Beatrix is the most powerful woman in the Netherlands, according to feminist magazine Opzij which publishes an annual top 100.

It is the first time the queen has topped the ranking. Traditionally Opzij leaves Beatrix out of the ranking because she has her position in society by virtue of her birth.
But her involvement in the cabinet formation process this year forced a rethink, the magazine said.
‘This year she made more of an impact on the country due to her key role in the complex cabinet formation process,’ Opzij said. The jury’s choice was unanimous.
Last year’s winner was trade union leader Agnes Jongerius.
