Prime minister not worried about the Netherlands’ global position

Prime minister Mark Rutte is ‘not really’ worried about the threat of losing the Dutch seat on the World Bank board or other global financial institutions, he told reporters in Brussels after attending his first EU ministers’ meeting.

According to the Financieele Dagblad, the Dutch seat on the boards of both the International Monetary Fund and World Bank are at risk. And Rutte has not been invited to attended the next G20 summit, where the reshuffle is likely to be discussed.
Experts in international finance have told the paper losing the IMF seat would have serious repercussions for the Netherlands in terms of its membership of other committees.
