Primary school pupil numbers set to fall 7%
The number of primary school pupils in the Netherlands is set to fall by 7% over the next five years and up to 12% in the northern provinces and Limburg, according to school organisation SBO.
At the moment, some 1.55 million children are attending primary school, from the age of 4 to 12.
The shrinkage is due to the greying population and a population shift towards the bigger urban centres, the SBO said.
