One of the 10 new MPs is female
Of the 10 new MPs being sworn in to parliament on October 26, just one is female, the Telegraaf reports on Friday.
Eight of the new MPs replace members who are joining the cabinet. Two replace Christian Democrat MPs who have quit in protest at the party’s alliance with the anti-Islam PVV.
The sole female newcomer is Karin Straus, for the VVD, who effectively replaces new health minister Edith Schippers .
The new ministerial team has just four women out of 20.
