Eelco Blok, currently on the board at telecoms group KPN, will take over from Ad Scheepbouwer when he leaves next April, KPN said on Monday.

Blok, who is 53, has been a member of the board since 2004 and has had a number of management jobs within KPN.
He will earn a basic salary of €800,000 with a performance-related bonus of up to 90% of that. He can also earn long-term share bonus equivalent to 135% of salary if certain targets are met, KPN said in a statement.
According to the Volkskrant, former colleagues say both Blok and Scheepbouwer are hard workers and result-orientated. But neither are warm personalities, sources told the paper.
