Somali arrested at Schiphol did not have explosives
The Somali national arrested at Schiphol airport on Sunday morning on terror charges did not have any explosives with him, the public prosecution department said on Monday.
The man was on his way from London to Entebbe, Uganda, when he was picked up following a tip-off from the British authorities.
The department declined to make any further comment on the arrest and Britain has refused to confirm it tipped off the Dutch.
Earlier this month, two Yemeni men were arrested at Schiphol on suspicion of planning a terror attack. They were later released without charge.
And on December 24, a Nigerian national tried to blow up a flight from Amsterdam to Detroit after concealing explosives in his underpants.
